UPCOMING LIVE WEBINARS
Mastering UPC Excellence Monthly Webinar Series --
September 9th - 12:30-1:30 EDT Water Temperature - Appendix N of the UPC covers the impact of water temperature on scalding and the growth of legionella. In this webinar we will discuss water temperatures and scalding, and the importance that certain temperatures have in litigating bacterial harm to potable water systems in a commercial and industrial environment, predominantly legionella growth. We will go over the potential harm legionella has on humans and what can be done to protect occupants from this.
October 14th - 12:30-1:30 EDT - Private Sewage Systems - Appendix H of the UPC covers what a private sewage disposal system is, the materials, design, and installation guidelines for a private sewage disposal system. We will discuss percolation testing, design methods, material requirements based on design, and distance requirements from varying structures and systems. As is consistent with UPC Appendices, this appendix is a supplement to the requirements set in Chapter 7 of this Code.
November 18th - 12:30-1:30 EDT - Alternative Systems - Appendix C of the UPC covers Alternative Systems. The intent of this appendix is to provide clarification of procedures for the design and approval of engineered plumbing systems, alternate materials, and equipment that are not specifically covered in other parts of the code. Approval of alternatives is based on demonstration showing that the method of material used is at least equivalent in strength, deflection, and capacity to that provided by the prescriptive methods and materials. We will review some examples of system designs, like water sizing and drainage sizing based on bathroom group configuration calculations.
December 9th - Useful Tables/Vital Tables Throughout the Code - Throughout this Code, there are numerous Tables of vital importance to the design requirements of plumbing systems. This webinar will discuss several of these important tables and emphasize the Notes that are vital to understanding each of these Tables. These Tables entail required hanger spacing, sizing requirements, BTU ratings, flow requirements, rain volumes based on geographic location, and much more.
